The first Blue Index project took place in Austin, Texas between 2016-2018.
It included 34 stations across a wide and diverse area spanning 14 watersheds and 9 city districts. Blue Index partnered with the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department, Parks and Recreation Department, and Department of Public Works, Shoal Creek Conservancy, Keep Austin Beautiful, Waller Creek Conservancy, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, The Contemporary Austin, Save Barton Creek Association, The Garden Club of America, and Blue Mind for this project.
